The moment I walked through the door for my first appointment I felt relaxed. The manner in which the waiting area is furnished, the music, the nature setting right outside the window, all come together to give you a sense of peace. I was greeted by my therapist with a warm smile and handshake. During a brief interview we discussed any current problems/aches/pains that I was experiencing as well as what type of treatment would best serve me at the time. Through this conversation I was made to feel very confident that I was being treated by a professional who had my best interests at heart. My line of work can be quite physical and to be perfectly candid, my body was a bit of a mess at the time. The treatment I received in session that day made me very happy about the choice that I made to come to Hands On. My therapist made sure to ask at different points throughout the session how I was doing, was the pressure she was applying good for me. She addressed all the problem areas we had discussed and pointed out for me a couple other potential problems. Following that first session, during a post-session conversation, my therapist opened a book detailing all the muscles of the body, pointing out to me the areas she found most “needy” on my body and suggesting different exercises/stretches that I could perform at home to strengthen some of my weaker areas, going as far as to get down on the floor to demonstrate a couple of the stretches. I call this not only an example of going above and beyond, but an example of her great passion for her work and dedication to her clients. In subsequent sessions, my therapist has tailored my treatments to my needs as my needs have changed. I can honestly say that through the treatments I have received at Hands On, I am in a far better place physically today than I was when I first walked through the door. If anyone reading this is considering receiving from a massage therapist but is undecided about where to go, try Hands On just once. You will be very happy that you did.
